
Courtney Simpson, PhD
Dr. Courtney Simpson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, the Director of the Eating Disorders Center at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle (EBTCS), and a DBT- Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™. She has a PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UC San Diego Eating Disorders Center (UCSD EDC). Before joining EBTCS, she served as Adult Program Manager and Trauma Track Coordinator at UCSD EDC, where she held a leadership position managing the interdisciplinary treatment team. She currently provides individual, group, and family therapy, as well as meal support and coaching for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and OSFED, with particular expertise in addressing co-occurring issues including emotion dysregulation, substance use, self-injury/parasuicidality, body dissatisfaction, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Her clinical training includes extensive experience implementing Family-Based Treatment for eating disorders, DBT, and DBT-Prolonged Exposure in both adult and adolescent partial hospitalization programs. She has a background in training graduate students, post-masters clinicians, and postdoctoral fellows in eating disorders treatment, and is licensed in the states of Washington and California. Dr. Simpson also co-hosts a podcast about disordered eating with Dr. McCurdy-McKinnon.
